We welcome to the church staff Ellen Patterson who joins IPC as our new Youth Director. Originally from Raleigh, North Carolina, she and her family lived in Richmond, VA and Louisville, KY before coming to the west coast four years ago. Ellen received her BA from the University of Louisville in Humanities and Religious Studies. Then, she and her family traveled to San Anselmo, CA where she completed her Master of Divinity at San Francisco Theological Seminary in 2003. The Pattersons moved to the Seattle area last summer for Ellen to complete a chaplaincy program at Chaplain at Overlake Hospital.

Ellen is a second career seminary graduate who enjoyed a corporate career for several years. She is still active in her consultant work, where she develops seminars, workshops, and retreats for various organizations. She also advises non-profit businesses on their respective missions.

Ellen has an extensive background with youth. She has taught all ages in the arts, outdoor activities and communication skills. She is a certified high/low ropes course director. She also enjoys developing theme-related camps for all ages.

Also arriving to the youth program with her, are three of her children. Elena, Gabe, and Luke are each active in the Presbyterian Church and are looking forward to becoming integrated at IPC. Their family has enjoyed being a part of more than one special church family in their travels to different areas. Ellen and her family are excited about the chance to be involved at Inglewood.
