James Kumin - Pastor

James came to IPC in the fall of 2012 from Ann Arbor, Michigan with his wife, Liz, and their son. James grew up in Portland, Oregon, and then went to school at Pomona College in Claremont, CA. After graduating, he first was a city planner while leading a youth ministry in a (mostly) Latino immigrant community (Pomona, CA). He then shifted to full-time youthwork there in January 2000. Continuing in that role until summer of 2003, he ministered to a diverse community of young people and saw many begin to follow Jesus.

After marrying Liz in 2003 and graduating from Princeton Seminary in

Ingrid Crozier - Accompanist

Ingrid grew up in Ephrata and came to faith as a young child.  It was in high school that she realized that her faith was not just her parent's faith but her own conviction.  She earned a degree in music education from Seattle Pacific University including performance groups and church music internships. Early ministry experience includes Lake Retreat camp where she was a music director and camp counselor. Ingrid married after college and taught school music for a few years until taking a break to raise 3 sons. She served as music director at Green Lake Presbyterian for 9 years, taught for another year, and worked 9 more years as music director for First Christian Reformed Church, Seattle.

Ingrid and Jim have 2 married sons and 5 grandchildren. They love hosting parties and are involved with "Global Friends" - a ministry to international students at University Presbyterian, Seattle.  Ingrid is glad to be back in church music and looks forward to growing in new ways at IPC.

Elders (aka 'Session')

IPC is led by our teaching elder (Pastor James) and six ruling elders, who together are the spiritual overseers and shepherds for the congregation.

The elders meet in Session at 7pm on the second Tuesday of each month.

Deacons at IPC actively nurture a welcoming, caring, Christ-centered community.  Deacons see to a wide variety of administrative and logistical tasks so that each person in our church family feels cared for and supported, and help everyone in our church family to reach out to others in need.

Deacons meet on the third Tuesday at 7pm each month.

2006, he trained for work with congregations in transition, and while living in Ann Arbor served at four unique churches in SE Michigan (in Ann Arbor, Detroit, Shelby Township, and White Lake). Now living here on Finn Hill (and welcoming a daughter into the family), James enjoys dinners with Liz, making his kids laugh, teasing their cat, meeting neighbors and getting to know the community.

I am so glad to be living on Finn Hill and investing long-term in this particular place for the sake of Jesus and his gospel. I love the way God continually grows and changes us, redeeming even our sin and pain. Nothing delights me more than seeing God's transforming work in my own and others' hearts."

Shelby Rowlett - Choir Director

I recently graduated from Northwest University with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music. While in school, I studied piano, vocal technique, and choral conducting, and had opportunities to conduct with both student and community choirs.

While hoping one day to continue on to a graduate program, I am enjoying my experience as a conductor here. I am excited to combine by heart for worship and my love of music to help lead and participate in this community's congregational worship.

Nahid Salimi - Administrative Assistant

I came to the United States in 1994 from Iran and enrolled in college where I studied pharmacy. I worked as a pharmacy technician for most of my career. I married my husband in 1995 and our son was born shortly after. My family found Christ through fellowship and attending Sunday morning service. We officially became baptized in the name of the Holy Trinity in October, 2007. We attend an Iranian-American church regularly and observe Christmas and Easter annually with close friends and loved ones. In my free time, I support the Seattle Seahawks with my family as we are all rabid fans.
