Disaster Relief Mission Team 

IPC will send a team of adults (at least 18 years old) to the town of Wyoming in northeastern Pennsylvania March 30-April 6, 2012. Residents of this community found themselves in a flood at the end of last summer. Hurricane Irene (August 2011 ) was followed by Tropical Storm Lee (September 2011) which brought a year’s rainfall in one weekend. Tributaries of the Susquehanna River could not handle the deluge, flooding low-lying areas. Thousands lost their homes, 11 lost their lives in Pennsylvania. Many are still struggling. IPC’s team will stay in a church building and work with the Lackawanna Presbytery and other local agencies to help rebuild homes.
